Dosage Form: Extended Release Tablets

Packaging: Each box contains 30 Xzolam^® tablets.

Uses and Application: This medicine is used to treat anxiety.

It is used to control anxiety in panic attacks.

What are Sustained-release (or extended-release) tablets:

Maintain drug release over a sustained period but not at a constant rate.

Sustained-release (or extended-release) Benefits:

• Releases more slowly into the bloodstream
• Provides the ability to maintain a constant level of medication within the body
• Reduces the number of doses which lowers expenses and improves patient compliance, especially for chronic diseases
• Decreases side effects
• Improves the location of the release of the drug within the body, for example, in the small intestines instead of the stomach
• Reduces sleep disruption due to breakthrough pain
• Improves patient experience because pills do not have to be administered every 4-6 hours
• Improves consistency of plasma levels to help obtain therapeutic efficacy and decrease potential toxicity

Administration and Dosage

• Anxiety Treatment:

Adults: At the beginning of treatment, 0.25 to 0.5 mg is administered 3 times a day, which can be increased to 4 mg daily if needed and prescribed by a physician.

Elderly: Initially, 0.25 mg is prescribed 2 to 3 times a day, which can be increased by the physician’s advice.

People under 18 years of age: Dosage should be determined by physician.

• Panic Treatment:

– Adults: Initially 0.5 mg 3 times a day and dosage may be increased by the physician. The maximum dose is 10 mg per day.

– People under 18 years of age: Dosage should be determined by physician.

Storage / stability:

• Store the medicine at room temperature and away from light and moisture.
• Keep the medicine in a safe place and out of the reach of children.
• Discard unused or expired medicines.

Drug Interactions:

If you are taking antifungal drugs such as itraconazole and ketoconazole, central nervous system depressants, antacids such as cimetidine, ranitidine and omeprazole, antidepressants such as fluoxetine and fluvoxamine, please consult with your physician.

Use in pregnancy and lactation:

• Taking this medicine during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, may be harmful to the fetus. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, consult with your physician.
• This medicine is excreted in breast milk and may have side effects for the baby, so do not breastfeed while taking this medicine.
